Compliance with ISO 14001 & Environmental Regulations

Energy Efficiency & Carbon Footprint Reduction
Springvale Foods is committed to reducing our carbon footprint and improving energy efficiency across our operations. As part of our Carbon Reduction Plan, we established a 2025 baseline for our operational greenhouse gas emissions.
Scope 1 emissions were approximately 22.24 tCO₂e and Scope 2 emissions were approximately 5.11 tCO₂e, giving a combined Scope 1 and 2 total of approximately 27.35 tCO₂e.
These figures provide a reference point against which future emissions reductions will be measured. Scope 3 emissions have not yet been quantified; however, we recognise their importance and will begin Scope 3 measurement in 2026, working with suppliers and partners to reduce emissions across our wider value chain.

- Regularly review and update our Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with ISO 14001 standards.
- Conduct internal audits and set new targets for sustainability improvements.
- Work with industry partners to adopt and promote best environmental practices.
- Align our environmental performance with UK government targets on waste, energy, and carbon emissions, contributing to the national Net Zero 2050 goal.
Our Science-Based Targets
- Reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030, from a 2024 baseline.
- Achieve Net Zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2045.
- Transition to 100% renewable electricity by 2030.
- Reduce overall site energy use by 20% by 2030.
- Achieve zero waste to landfill by 2030.
- Begin Scope 3 emissions measurement by 2026 and work with suppliers to reduce emissions across the value chain.
